2020 has been the year of the unexpected. Without live shows, we dedicated the year to our sisterhood, resilience, and to finishing this album, a symbol of our work together. With manufacturing delays, the exact date that the vinyls will be finished is uncertain, but we’re hope to see them before the end of the year. At last, we present to you, “We Saw Blue”. We love you and appreciate the support.

about

The mission of our music has always been to uplift cultures and diversity in order to create more unity and peace in the world. Now more than ever we are recognizing the need for understanding and peace.

Ciranda is a style of music that originates from the northeast of Brazil. This region is home to many diverse musical traditions forged by the many cultural influences of indigenous people, African slaves, and European colonists. Folk music tells the story of how people have moved across the world over time, whether by choice or by force. It carries with it both the pain and liberation of humanity.

Our song “Ciranda” is adapted from a folk song written by an artist from Surubim, Pernambuco Brazil named Capiba. The song merges this traditional song with our original poetry and speaks to the power of the ocean to unify us despite distance, to hold our fears in the shape of the vast unknown, and to offer us solace in difficult times. At this particular moment in history we hope this song will encourage conversations about our history and how to encourage understanding and unity in times of struggle.
